How is the water cleaned?

Cleanliness is our top priority.  Our spacious float tanks filter and sterilize the water 24 hours a day, using both ultraviolet light and hydrogen peroxide. The water in our tanks is far cleaner than the water in a swimming pool or hot tub because the high concentration of salt creates a sterile environment in which microorganisms cannot survive. Epsom Salt is also anti-microbial.

What do I need to bring?

Only bring the post-float toiletries and hair grooming products you may want. We provide everything else you need, including soap and shampoo for showering before and after, earplugs to keep water out of your ears, towels, and hairdryers. Each float room is private so there is no need for a bathing suit. Wearing a suit detracts from the effects of reducing sensory stimulation. If you wear contact lenses, we suggest you bring a case or just wear glasses.

Will I be bored or frightened?

Anyone who floats regularly will tell you how comfortable and deeply relaxed they feel while floating. You’re as close as you are ever likely to be to the experience of weightlessness, and there is no feeling of being confined in a tight space.

What if I’m claustrophobic?

You have complete control over your environment during your session. The door simply pushes open and you can  step out any time you like. The tanks are big enough that you can lift your arms high over your head and extend them to your sides. Fresh air is constantly circulating into the tank.  Some people leave the door ajar or open for their first float.

What if I can’t swim?

Floating doesn’t require any swimming skills whatsoever. You’ll actually float like a cork, and it doesn’t matter what shape or size you are.

Is it private?

Yes, you float within your own individual room, so there is no need to wear a swimsuit. Each of our rooms has its own shower and is yours exclusively use for the duration of your session.

Will my skin wrinkle?

Your skin will not wrinkle. Because the water contains high Epsom salt levels it doesn’t rob your skin of salt; rather, it leaves your skin soft and silky.

How will it affect my hair treatment?

We recommend people do not float if they had their hair colored within 48 hours. Also, people who have had hair straightening treatment (e.g., with keratin) or extensions should not float because salt disrupts the treatment.

Can I float with other people?

The float tank is designed for individual use.  We have three private tank rooms at our current facility so we can accommodate three people
